Millom Beach is a wide expanse of sand and shingle that's just 5 miles away. This spot is always dog-friendly so don't be afraid to bring your four-pawed pal along on a seaside excursion. Popular Lake District walking spots of Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are accessible within 20 miles, as is the pretty port town of Barrow-in-Furness with its dramatic sea views and Furness Abbey (17.5 miles).
