Just 5 miles away is Minehead which has a golden sandy beach and gardens or take the steam train along the heritage line and visit many places including Watchet. Other places of interest include Dunster (8 miles) with its medieval architecture, and Dunster Castle and grounds – visit the pretty watermill there which dates back to the 18th century. Drive over Exmoor to Lynton and Lynmouth, set in beautiful woodlands (both 14 miles drive and between them known as Little Switzerland) with Lynmouth home to a pretty harbour. Enjoy local fish and chips next to the harbour or a Devon cream tea in one of the tearooms.
