This beautiful stone cottage, blending old seaside charm with light, modern design, sits in the idyllic village of Worth Matravers on the Dorset coast. It’s the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a retreat away with your extended family, to enjoy some quality time together by the sea and maybe exercise some competitive spirit too.

The house itself is designed to make the most of its seaside location. It sits aslant in a wrap-around garden, with lush lawns and planting, plus plenty of space to play — the perfect pre-beach pitstop for kids. There’s also a large patio, with a stone fire pit with a detachable cooking grill, so you can enjoy the sea air as it gets late. Inside, you’ll find the heart of the home, the sunny open-plan kitchen and dining space, with modern style and sleek, spacious eating spaces, perfect for hanging out and enjoying some long, leisurely meals together. Head through to the lounge to relax — it’s another bright and delightfully decorated room, with a wood burner for proper cosying up. Yet another living space is the snug (a rather spacious one) with a pool table so you can have some family duels after dinner. Each of these downstairs rooms leads out to the wrap-around patio, making the whole space feel connected and full of light. Head down some steps to the lower ground floor, where two tranquil bedrooms are tucked away, a king-size and a twin with en-suite shower. Up on the first floor are two further bedrooms with beautiful views and exposed beams.
