Stroll along the Carrowbeg River and take a picnic to Colonel's Woods (both within 1 mile). Check out the town's bakeries and leisure centre or head to the bike hire shop to explore on two wheels. Head to the seafront to find the 400-acre Westport House estate plus Roman Island's national forest, heritage centre and boat tour operators. Further afield you'll find Croaghmoyle Mountain nature reserve (16 miles), the Great Western Greenway trail (2 miles) and surfing hotspot Old Head Beach (12 miles).
